Aokigahara, Forest in Japan
Aokigahara, also known as the Sea of Trees, is a dense forest on the northwestern flank of Japan's Mount Fuji.
The forest has a historic association with demons in Japanese mythology and is a common suicide site.
In popular culture, Aokigahara is often depicted as a place of mystery and supernatural activity.
Due to its density and darkness, it is recommended to stick to the trails when visiting Aokigahara.
The forest floor consists primarily of volcanic rock and is difficult to penetrate with hand tools such as picks or shovels.
