Oizumi

Oizumi extends across 18 square kilometers in southern Gunma Prefecture, bordered by the Tone River and Saitama Prefecture.

The formation of Oizumi occurred in 1957 through the consolidation of Koizumi town and Okawa village during Japan's municipal restructuring period.

The population includes a substantial Brazilian community, making up approximately 15 percent of residents who maintain Portuguese as their primary language.

The town contains four elementary schools, three junior high schools, and connects to major areas through the Tobu Koizumi Line railway.

Manufacturing facilities of major corporations like Ajinomoto, Sanyo, and Fuji Heavy Industries form the industrial foundation of this multicultural municipality.
