Zenkō-ji, Buddhist temple in Nagano, Japan
Zenkō-ji is a Buddhist temple located in Nagano, Japan.
The temple was built in the 7th century and houses the first Buddhist statue ever to be brought into Japan.
Zenkō-ji is one of the last few remaining pilgrimage sites in Japan.
The temple opens from 4:30 am to 4:30 pm daily.
Unlike most temples, Zenkō-ji is shared by the Tendai and Jōdo-shū schools of Buddhism.
