Mima, Administrative city in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan

Located in north-central Tokushima Prefecture, Mima extends over 367 square kilometers and includes territories from Mount Tsurugi to the Yoshino River.

The name Mima originates from two characters meaning 'Beautiful Horse', reflecting the area's past role as a center for horse breeding during early periods.

The Udatsu Townscape preserves merchant buildings from the Edo Period, featuring traditional architectural elements along the main street of Wakimachi district.

The Tourist Information Office in Wakimachi provides visitor resources, accommodation bookings, and bicycle rentals for exploring the city's attractions.

The region maintains its traditional indigo cultivation practices, which date back to the Edo Period when Mima functioned as a principal trading center.
