Asahi-ku, Administrative ward in Yokohama, Japan.

Asahi-ku spans an area of 32.77 square kilometers in eastern Kanagawa Prefecture, bordered by Seya, Totsuka, Midori, Izumi, and Hodogaya wards.

During the Edo period, the Tokugawa shogunate directly governed this region as tenryō territory through various hatamoto administrators.

The Yokohama Zoological Gardens within Asahi-ku presents educational programs about wildlife conservation and maintains diverse animal collections for public viewing.

The Asahi Ward Office processes family registrations, tax documents, and childcare services on weekdays from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM.

While the Tōkaidō Shinkansen bullet train passes through Asahi-ku, the ward contains no stations along this high-speed rail line.
