Ono

The city spans across 92.94 square kilometers in the Harima Plain, positioned along the Kakogawa River in central Hyogo Prefecture.

On December 1, 1954, Ono incorporated five neighboring villages - Kawai, Kishi, Ichiba, Obe, and Shimo-Hojo - to establish its current municipal structure.

The Jodo-ji temple contains the Jododo hall from 1194, recognized as a National Treasure of Japan within the city limits.

The transportation network includes service by the JR West Kakogawa Line and Kobe Electric Railway, with direct access to the Sanyo Expressway.

Ono maintains its position as one of Japan's primary producers of abacus, controlling more than 70 percent of the national market share.
