Satosho, Administrative town in Asakuchi District, Okayama Prefecture, Japan
Satosho is a town in Okayama Prefecture in southwestern Japan. The municipality has both flat plains and forested hills, with residential areas, farmland, and small industrial zones distributed across the landscape.
The town formed in 1905 from the merger of Satomi and Shinjō villages. It was officially established as a town in 1950 during Japan's post-war municipal reorganization.
The local economy maintains traditional agricultural practices while integrating modern food processing facilities and electronics manufacturing establishments throughout the region.
The town is accessible by the San'yō Main Line railway, which connects to larger cities like Kurashiki and Fukuyama. Visitors will find a quiet setting with a mix of farm areas and small local businesses.
Since 2006, it has been the sole municipality in the entire Asakuchi District. This distinction sets it apart within the regional administrative structure of Okayama.
