Shiraoka

Shiraoka is a city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, situated on flat land of the Kanto Plain with a modest elevation. The city features residential neighborhoods, public facilities, and green spaces throughout its layout.

The city formed in 1965 from the merger of the separate villages of Shinozu and Oyama, and attained city status in 2012. This transformation from rural settlements to a modern municipality shaped its ongoing development.

The Shiraoka Hachiman-gu shrine serves as the spiritual center where residents gather for traditional ceremonies and seasonal festivals throughout the year.
