Higashichichibu

Located in a secluded valley surrounded by mountains, Higashichichibu spans 37 square kilometers of agricultural lands and traditional paper-making facilities.

The village emerged in 1956 through the consolidation of Okawara and Tsukikawa municipalities within the Chichibu district of Saitama Prefecture.

The village maintains strong connections to traditional Japanese paper crafting, with the Chichibu Washi no Sato center showcasing local paper-making techniques.

Visitors need to rely on private transportation as the nearest rail stations, Yorii and Ogawamachi, are located in neighboring municipalities.

The village features 5,000 peach trees at Hanamomo no Sato and extensive red spider lily colonies along the Yasudo Riverbank Walk.
