Ranzan, Rural town in Saitama Prefecture, Japan

Located on the Higashimatsuyama Plateau, Ranzan extends across 29.92 square kilometers of varied landscape with mountains, valleys, and agricultural lands.

The municipality system started in 1889 with the creation of Sugaya and Nanasato villages, which merged in 1955 before receiving town status in 1967.

The Ranzan Festival occurs every first Sunday of November, featuring local food stalls, agricultural products, and performances by Yoroi Musha warriors.

Visitors can reach Ranzan through the Tobu Tojo Line railway or the Musashi-Ranzan Highway, which connects to the Kan-etsu Expressway.

The Great Purple Emperor Butterfly Park houses Japan's national butterfly species and provides educational experiences about local wildlife in its biotope space.
