Kuon-ji, Buddhist temple in Japan
Kuon-ji is a major Buddhist temple in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.
Founded in 1281 by Nichiren, it serves as the head temple of the Nichiren Shū.
The temple is known for its 'One Million Steps', which are a symbol of the journey to enlightenment.
It's open to visitors year-round and offers stunning views of Mount Fuji.
Every year, on May 21st, Kuon-ji hosts the annual Oeshiki-Ichijo Festival.
