Great Buddha Hall, Buddhist temple in Japan
The Daibutsu-den is the largest wooden building in the world, housing a 15-meter tall bronze statue of Buddha.
Originally built in 752, the current structure is a reconstruction from 1709 after being destroyed twice by earthquakes.
It's an important cultural property of Japan and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The temple complex is open to visitors year-round.
The Daibutsu-den is home to the world's largest bronze statue of the Buddha Vairocana.
