Shuri Castle is a Ryukyuan gusuku in Shuri, Okinawa.

It was the palace of the Ryukyu Kingdom and played a pivotal role in the political unification of the island.

The castle represents a unique blend of Japanese and Chinese architecture.

The castle was largely destroyed during World War II but has been reconstructed and is now a popular tourist destination.

Shuri Castle is the only Japanese castle that was built in the style of a Chinese palace.
