Yokohama

Yokohama is a town in Kamikita district, Aomori Prefecture, positioned along the Pacific coast with a mix of natural landscapes and residential areas. The municipality combines rural farmland with smaller settlements that stretch across the coastal region.

The town received its official establishment on April 1, 1889, during a period of administrative reorganization across Japan. This early founding during the Meiji era shaped its development as a local administrative unit on the northeastern coast.
