Doshi

Located in the southeastern corner of Yamanashi Prefecture, Doshi spans 79.57 square kilometers within the Tanzawa Mountains, featuring numerous camping areas and forested zones.

The village administration was officially established on July 1, 1889, during the implementation of Japan's new municipality system following the Meiji Restoration period.

The village maintains traditional Japanese practices with local tea ceremonies while its residents focus on forestry and agricultural activities throughout the seasons.

Doshi connects to major cities through National Route 413, offering vacation rentals, villas, and cottages equipped with modern facilities including BBQ areas and wireless internet.

In 1897, the Doshigawa River received designation as a primary water source for Yokohama, leading to the protection of substantial village areas as watershed zones.
