Kbal Spean, Archaeological site in Cambodia

Kbal Spean is a remote angkorian site in northwest Cambodia.

It was rediscovered in 1969 by an ethnologist, Jean Boulbet.

The Kbal Spean River is commonly known as 'the river of a thousand lingas' for its carvings.

Be prepared for a moderate uphill climb to reach the area.

The sculptures are submerged under water during the wet season and visible in the dry.
