Ta Som, Temple complex in Cambodia

Ta Som is a small temple located in the ancient city of Angkor, within Siem Reap Province.

Built at the end of the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, it has been left largely unrestored.

Ta Som is renowned for its intricate carvings and the face towers resembling those at the Bayon.

Visitors are encouraged to explore Ta Som early morning to avoid the heat and crowds.

A distinctive feature of Ta Som is the strangler fig tree engulfing one of its gateways.
