Sinchon Museum of American War Atrocities, History museum in Sinchon, North Korea.
The Sinchon Museum is a historic building in South Hwanghae Province that collects and displays documents and items from the Korean War period. The site includes several exhibition rooms across multiple floors, a preserved air-raid bunker, and a memorial area with a tomb for the victims.
The facility opened on March 26, 1958, to preserve North Korean accounts of the military occupation of Sinchon in autumn 1950. The building arose as a response to reports of civilian losses during wartime.
The complex functions as a teaching site where schoolchildren learn about wartime events through photographs and displayed items. School groups visit the building regularly as part of their history curriculum and take part in organized tours.
Visitors move through the rooms with a guide who explains in Korean and leads through the different floors. The tour follows a set path through the exhibition areas and the bunker.
The air-raid bunker on the grounds remains in its original condition and can be entered during the guided visit. North Korean records state that numerous residents sought shelter in this underground room.
