Taebaeksan National Park

The mountain peaks of Taebaeksan National Park rise above 1,500 meters, offering views of forests, springs, and rock formations across the eastern Korean landscape.

The park received its national designation in 2016, marking the 22nd national park in South Korea, after serving as a provincial protected area.

The Manggyeongsa Temple, positioned at 1,460 meters elevation, houses a Bodhisattva of Wisdom statue installed during the Silla Dynasty period.

Visitors can access the park through multiple entry points, with hiking trails leading to Janggunbong Peak requiring approximately 2.5 hours of walking time.

The Dragon Spring near Manggyeongsa Temple stands as one of South Korea's highest natural water sources, providing clear mountain water throughout the year.
