Kinniya Bridge, Road bridge in Trincomalee District, Sri Lanka

The Kinniya Bridge spans 396 meters across the lagoon between Koddiyar Bay and Tambalagam Bay, making it the longest bridge in Sri Lanka.

The government approved construction plans in 2003 after a 25-year delay, replacing an old ferry service that operated through the Kinniya Lagoon.

The bridge connects communities in Trincomalee and Kinniya regions, enabling regular travel and commerce between previously separated populations across the lagoon.

The structure carries two lanes of traffic with a total width of 10 meters, linking the A15 highway between Trincomalee and the Muttur areas.

Saudi Arabian funding supported the construction of this cantilever bridge, which stands at coordinates 8°30′25″N and 81°11′28″E.
