Ramygala, Town in Lithuania
Ramygala is a small town in southeastern Lithuania, set on a gentle hill along the Nevėžis River. Its old center is laid out with winding streets, small squares, and two-story buildings that date back to the early 20th century.
Ramygala was first mentioned in writing in the 13th century, when it already had a market, a manor, and a growing population. Over the following centuries it was destroyed by fire several times and rebuilt each time.
Ramygala is known across the region for its goat-raising tradition, and each summer the town holds a festival where a goat is crowned the most beautiful of the year. This event draws people from nearby areas and has become a cheerful gathering point for the whole community.
