The Church of St. John the Baptist features a Latin cross layout with two towers and stands as a central structure in Plungė Old Town.
Construction of the current stone church began in 1899, replacing a wooden structure from 1797, and continued until its consecration in 1933.
The church complex incorporates a Classical style bell tower from 1850, which connects with the surrounding fence of the sacred grounds.
Located at Vytauto Street 34, the church maintains regular services and welcomes visitors who can obtain information through the parish office.
The site includes a restored Lourdes replica with a recovered sculpture that local residents saved after it was thrown into the river during Soviet times.
