Church of the transfiguration of Jesus Christ in Griškabūdis

The Church of the Transfiguration features an octagonal layout with rectangular annexes, containing a portico supported by four Doric columns and a presbytery-sacristy.

The church was constructed between 1792 and 1796 under the direction of Carmelite architect Juozas Vasiliauskas and received its consecration in the year 1800.

The interior walls display polychromatic paintings of biblical figures, including Aaron and Moses, along with representations of the four evangelists from the 18th century.

Visitors can locate the church at 2A Alyvų Street in Griškabūdis, with guided tours available on both weekdays and weekends through advance arrangements.

The building contains the only surviving polychrome facade in Lithuania and houses a valuable late Baroque organ crafted by George Adam Neppert in 1804.
