Liudiškiai hillfort
Liudiškiai hillfort is an archaeological site and ancient stronghold located in Anykščiai Eldership in Lithuania. The site consists of a fortified hill about 17 meters high surrounded by deep ditches, with a settlement area beside it where inhabitants lived for centuries.
The hillfort was built over one thousand years ago as a defensive stronghold protecting the local population from invaders. Archaeological findings including pottery and clay spindle whorls reveal that people lived and worked here, with the site remaining an important settlement through multiple centuries.
The site is easily reached from nearby Anykščiai with directional signs and a small parking area at the base of the hill. Visitors can walk around the fortified mound, observe the ancient defensive ditches, and enjoy paths through the surrounding forest.
