Church of Saint Lawrence in Videniškiai

The Church of Saint Lawrence in Videniškiai is a Renaissance-style church building with a rectangular floor plan and central tower. The exterior and interior showcase refined Renaissance details including stucco decorations in the vaults and ornamental pilaster capitals.

The building was constructed in 1618 by the Giedraičiai family during a period of religious expansion in Lithuania. Later modifications to the structure changed its original appearance and function over time.

The interior displays works by local and visiting artists who shaped Lithuanian religious architecture traditions. These pieces reflect the artistic exchange between regional craftspeople and masters from other lands.

The interior can be visited during opening hours to examine the crafted details from the Renaissance period. Visitors should dress appropriately and behave respectfully since this remains an active place of worship.

A chapel added later significantly altered the original rectangular floor plan of this building. This extension was specifically developed to serve as a burial and memorial space for Giedraičiai family members.
