Babītes hillfort

Babītes hillfort is an archaeological monument in Jūrmala with raised earthwork defenses and structural remains from the early medieval period. The site occupies elevated terrain and commands views over the surrounding coastal landscape.

Researchers have used LIDAR technology to create three-dimensional models of the fortification to better understand its construction. These digital records enable research that traditional excavation alone could not accomplish.
