Nogale Manor, Manor house in Nogale, Latvia
Nogale Manor is a two-story neoclassical house with twelve window axes and an Ionic portico facing the park, decorated with pilasters on its main entrance. The building stands on spacious grounds with landscaped gardens and sits near a small lake.
The manor was built in 1880 by architect T. Seiler as a replacement or renewal of the estate. The Brunnow family held the property in the 17th century before the Fircks family later took over and shaped its development.
The interior features wall paintings in neo-Baroque style, majolica ceramics, and decorated fireplaces that show how the aristocracy lived and what they valued in their homes. These decorative elements reveal the refined tastes and craftsmanship of the families who owned the manor over time.
The manor sits within spacious parkland and is accessible in the Ārlava parish area where nature dominates the surroundings. The grounds are best explored during warmer months when the landscape and gardens are in full view.
The estate earned recognition as a hunting lodge of Baron von Fircks, surrounded by forests that made it ideal for hunting expeditions. This combination of refined architecture and wild surroundings gave the place a special appeal for its owners.
