Stāmeriena Manor, 19th century manor in Stāmeriena, Latvia.
Stāmeriena Manor is a stone structure positioned between lakes Stāmeriena and Poga, combining French Neo-Renaissance design with Art Nouveau decorative elements on its exterior. The building reflects early 20th century architectural style through its ornamental details and composition.
The original structure was built in 1801 by the von Wolff family, but was destroyed in 1905 and reconstructed three years later. The rebuilding process introduced updated architectural features reflecting the contemporary aesthetic of that era.
The name reflects the von Wolff family who shaped its character over generations. Visitors can explore rooms where European artists and writers once gathered.
The manor welcomes visitors throughout the year for tours and also hosts concerts and exhibitions. It is advisable to check ahead for available tour times, as opening times may vary by season.
The manor remained in private ownership during Latvia's 1920s agrarian reforms, while most other estates were nationalized. This survival of private stewardship makes it a rare example of continuity through a period of major social upheaval.
