Ķoderu hillfort

Located on elevated terrain, the Ķoderu hillfort features earthen ramparts and defensive structures measuring 100 meters in length and 40 meters in width.

Between the 5th and 8th centuries, the hillfort served as a fortified settlement, contributing to the network of defensive structures across ancient Latvia.

Archaeological excavations at the site reveal patterns of early Baltic settlements, providing evidence of daily life, trade activities, and social organization methods.

Visitors can access the hillfort through marked pathways from Suntaži Parish, with parking available near the main entrance to the archaeological site.

The hillfort contains preserved layers of different settlement periods, making it valuable for studying the evolution of Baltic defensive architecture.
