Valpenes piramīda, Stone sculpture in Dundaga Parish, Latvia.

Valpenes piramīda is a stone structure approximately 9 meters tall with a base circumference of about 38 meters, built from carefully arranged blocks in pyramidal form. The structure comprises individual stones engraved with folk song verses, cardinal directions, and names of historic houses from the village.

The monument was created in 1990 by sculptor Vilnis Titans and stands near the former school of Latvian folklore researcher Krisjanis Barons. The work emerged as a recognition of the region's cultural heritage and the village's community memory.

The structure serves as a gathering place where folk song verses connect each stone to a particular household's story. The inscriptions transform the monument into a written record of village identity that people can touch and read.

Climbing to the top is possible by following engraved instructions marked on the stones themselves. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear since the stone surfaces can be uneven and require careful footing.

Each stone in the pyramid corresponds to a specific geographic direction and represents a house that once stood in Valpene. This spatial arrangement transforms the structure into a kind of compass of village history, where stone positions reflect the original locations of the houses.
