Richard-Wagner-Haus, Historical theater building in Central District, Latvia.

The Richard-Wagner-Haus features three levels with a balcony, gallery, and divided rooms that once accommodated up to 600 spectators in the concert hall.

German composer Richard Wagner served as conductor at this theater from 1837 to 1839, where he developed ideas for his future Bayreuth Festspielhaus design.

The German Theater opened in 1782 with a performance of Emilia Galotti, becoming a central venue for international performers including Franz Liszt and Clara Schumann.

The building currently operates as a concert hall for chamber music, with plans for restoration supported by €5.2 million from the German Bundestag.

The theater's original design by Christoph Haberland incorporated stage facilities on the ground floor, dressing rooms in the mezzanine, and reception halls above.
