Borj Fes Mall, Shopping mall in Fez, Morocco
Centro Comercial Borj Fez is a modern shopping center in downtown Fez spread across multiple levels with international brand stores, local boutiques, and restaurants. The building has wide corridors, climate-controlled spaces, and several zones dedicated to dining and entertainment.
The center opened in 2013 and marked a major shift in Fez's retail practices as the city's first modern shopping mall. This development showed how shopping habits were changing in the region and how Western retail patterns were arriving in the traditional city.
The center brings together modern shopping habits and traditional Moroccan craft traditions in one place. You can walk past international brand stores and then find local artisans selling their handmade goods nearby.
The center has underground parking and multiple entrances that make access easy, plus it stays open from morning until late evening. Visitors should wear light comfortable clothing since the indoor areas are well air-conditioned and can feel quite different from the outdoor temperature.
This was the first shopping mall of its kind in Fez and introduced the city to a completely new shopping experience that had never existed there before. Many older residents visited it out of curiosity at first to see how different it was from the traditional souks they had always known.
