Ouled Zyan tribe

The Ouled Zyan territory extends along the Atlantic coast for 12 kilometers between Mediouna and Chiadma, with significant water resources including Oued el Maleh river.

The tribe traces its ancestry to Zyan bin Khalifa bin Askar from the Banu Hilal tribe, who originated in the Nejd region of modern Saudi Arabia.

The tribe forms part of the Chaouia confederation, maintaining traditional social structures through interactions with neighboring tribes like Ziaida, Mdakra, and Oulad Hariz.

The tribal lands divide into two main sections: Moualine el Oued southeast of Casablanca and Soualem southwest, separated by 30 kilometers.

Multiple natural springs, including Ain Sbaa, Hlilifa Ain, Ain Zahra, and Ain Ghassalat, provide essential water resources throughout the tribal territory.
