As-Sunna Mosque, Historical mosque in central Rabat, Morocco.

The As-Sunna Mosque spans 5565 square meters with a square floor plan and features a rectangular courtyard surrounded by covered galleries and prayer halls.

Sultan Moulay Mohammed ben Abdallah constructed this religious edifice in 1785 during a period when Rabat served as the royal capital of Morocco.

The mosque includes traditional Moroccan architectural elements, such as ornamental pavilions near courtyard entrances and carved decorative patterns on the minaret facades.

Nine entrance gates provide access to different sections of the mosque, including separate entrances for women and the imam near Avenue Mohammed V.

During the 1969 renovation, workers relocated the minaret from its original northwest position to the southwest corner to align with the main boulevard.
