Armenian Saint Gregory Church, Bălți

The Armenian Saint Gregory Church is a stone building with a distinctive dome above the nave and a bell tower rising from its structure. The roof is covered with red tiles, and the walls of dressed stone give the structure a solid and enduring appearance.

The building was constructed between 1910 and 1916 on the initiative of a merchant who dedicated it to the memory of his deceased brothers. This period was marked by Armenian migration into the region, which established the community that built this church.

The church was built by the Armenian community in Bălți as a sacred place and displays architectural features typical of Armenian traditions. The building reflects the connection between Armenia and Moldova, even though the community living here today is much smaller than it once was.

The building is currently not open to visitors, as the Armenian community in Bălți has become very small and the church is no longer in regular use. It is best to view the exterior of the monument from the street and photograph the architecture from different angles.

The church's basement crypt was built as a memorial to two brothers whose vision made the building possible. This underground feature is a rare element in the region's church architecture.
