Mansion of Balioz family, Architectural monument in Ivancea, Moldova.
The three-story mansion features traditional Moldovan noble residence architecture with multiple ancillary buildings spread across a three-hectare estate.
Built between 1852 and 1873 by Armenian boyar Carebet Balioz, who managed the estate as administrator and son-in-law of Manuc Bei.
From 1984 to 2006, the building served as the Museum of People's Handicrafts of Moldova, displaying regional craft traditions.
The National Ethnography and Natural History Museum maintains the property with a staff of five members who ensure security and basic maintenance.
The estate includes original nineteenth-century structures such as a water tower, storage rooms, cellars, and stables from the boyar period.
