Church of St. George, Staro Nagoričane

The Church of St. George features a cross-in-square design with five domes, combining stone blocks at the base and brick-and-stone banding in the upper section.

Initially constructed in 1071 during Emperor Romanos IV Diogenes reign, the church underwent reconstruction between 1313 and 1318 under Serbian King Stefan Milutin's patronage.

The interior walls display frescoes created in 1317 by Michael Astrapas and Eutychios, depicting religious scenes in both Greek and Old Church Slavonic inscriptions.

The church maintains regular visiting hours throughout the week, with guided tours available to explore the architectural elements and preserved medieval frescoes.

The structure incorporates two distinct construction periods, visible in its hybrid design that combines original 10th-century stone columns with 14th-century architectural elements.
