Karadżica, Mountain hut in Jakupica range, North Macedonia
Karadžica is a mountain hut located at 1455 meters elevation within beech forests of the Jakupica range in North Macedonia. The facility provides basic accommodation and services for hikers exploring this mountainous terrain.
The hut was built to serve hikers accessing the various peaks and passes within the Jakupica range. Its location was chosen to connect established mountaineering routes and facilitate exploration of the massif.
The facility operates under management of PD Drachevo from Skopje, maintaining local mountaineering traditions and supporting outdoor activities in the region.
Access begins with a bus from Skopje to the village of Dolno Kolichani, then a minibus or private transport to Preslap saddle where trails begin. Sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are essential due to rapidly changing conditions at higher elevations.
From here, hikers can reach Solunska Glava, the highest point in the massif at 2540 meters elevation. The ascent to the summit takes several hours and rewards climbers with views across the surrounding mountains and valleys.
