Burkhan Khaldun, Sacred mountain in Mongolia
Burkhan Khaldun is one of the most sacred mountains in Mongolia, located in the Khentii Mountains.
It is believed to be the birthplace of Genghis Khan and the location where he received his calling from the heavens.
The mountain holds a significant place in Mongolian spiritual traditions and shamanic beliefs.
It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on August 6, 1996.
The mountain is considered the most important of the worshipped sacred mountains in Mongolia.
