The Drommedaris rises as a three-story fortified structure at the entrance of Enkhuizen harbor, featuring defensive elements and architectural details from 1649.
Originally constructed as part of the city wall defenses, the Drommedaris protected Enkhuizen's harbor and served as a watchtower over the former Zuiderzee.
The building contains three distinct spaces: a ground floor bar with melon vaults, a theater room on the first floor, and a film venue above.
Visitors can access the cultural center at Paktuinen 1, 1601 GD Enkhuizen, where they can attend theater performances, music concerts, and film screenings.
Two anchors hang on the southeast wall, marking a failed invasion attempt when attackers fled, leaving their anchors behind in the water.
