Floradorp is a garden village in Amsterdam North, located between the Buiksloterdijk, Noorderpark, and Noordhollandsch Kanaal with colorful residential buildings throughout. The streets form a planned layout with green spaces that were designed as part of a larger garden city development.
The neighborhood was built between 1919 and 1924 to address housing shortages and provide working families with better living conditions than crowded city center areas offered. It was part of a municipal program to create garden city neighborhoods across Amsterdam.
