Wolvega

Wolvega is the main town of Weststellingwerf municipality in Friesland, serving as the administrative center for the area. The town has a railway station and hosts major horse racing events at Victoria Park throughout the year.

The settlement grew from medieval roots and took its name from a person called Wolf who lived there long ago. A Dutch Reformed church was built in the 1600s and became a defining landmark of the town.
