De Luiten
De Luiten is a sports park in Roosendaal, Netherlands, that served as the home ground for the local football team RBC. The facility featured covered seating and standing areas with a capacity to accommodate several thousand spectators during major matches.
The park was built in 1949 and opened in 1950 with a friendly match against Wycombe Wanderers. In 2000, the facility was closed as a new modern stadium called Vast & Goed Stadion was constructed to replace it.
The name comes from Luyte, a designation for the area dating back to the 1600s. For many decades, the site served as a gathering place where neighbors watched football together and shared in the excitement of local matches.
The site is located near Voeltastraat in the Kalsdonk neighborhood and is easily accessible on foot. Since the park no longer hosts active matches, visitors can explore the historic grounds at their own pace.
The opening match in 1950 was a friendly between RBC and an all-star selection of local players from the surrounding area, which RBC won 3 to 1. The final game in 2000 was an emotional reunion between former RBC players and players from Ajax, Amsterdam's major rival.
