Meijel, Rural village in Limburg, Netherlands.
Meijel is a village in the Peel region of Limburg, situated on sandy elevated ground surrounded by farmland and natural areas. The settlement spreads across gently rolling terrain with open fields and patches of woodland that shape its countryside character.
The settlement was founded in 1303 and remained independent as a free lordship for several centuries. In 1716 it came under the rule of Austrian Upper Guelders.

The population of Meijel grew from 840 residents in 1830 to 5,120 in 2021, maintaining its rural character despite significant demographic changes.
