De Bente

De Bente features an eight-sided wooden structure with a thatched roof, standing on a stone base and reaching a height that makes it visible across the landscape.

Following the destruction of a previous mill by French forces in 1813, this stellingmill was constructed in 1814 and underwent major restoration works in 1976.

The mill maintains traditional Dutch grain milling methods, producing flour through wind power and preserving centuries-old engineering techniques for future generations.

Visitors can explore the mill during operating hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 13:00 to 17:00, and Saturdays from 10:00 to 17:00.

The mill contains two sets of 17-inch Dutch stones and can process approximately two tons of grain per week using only wind power.
