Overloon War Museum

The Overloon War Museum displays military vehicles, weapons, and uniforms from World War II across a spacious wooded area that visitors can explore on foot. The site includes outdoor exhibition zones with tanks, artillery pieces, and other military equipment arranged throughout the grounds.

The site was the location of intense fighting between Allied and German forces in autumn 1944, with heavy tank combat in the area. The museum was established to document these events and their impact on the local community.

The museum displays personal objects, photographs, and documents from people who lived through the war, including soldiers and civilians from the region. These items tell the stories of those directly affected by the fighting.

The grounds are accessible on foot with marked pathways connecting the different exhibition areas. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for uneven terrain, especially after rain.

Among the exhibits is a damaged German Panther tank that was destroyed during the fighting at this location and still bears the scars of combat. This tank is one of the few surviving German armored vehicles from that period and shows the reality of the warfare.
