Kasteel Neerijnen, Medieval castle in Neerijnen, Netherlands
The castle stands along the Waal River with its restored gardens, historical glasshouses, and rose gardens surrounding the main building structure.
Built around 1350 by Gijsbrecht de Cock under the name Klingelenburg, the castle remained in the De Cock family's possession until 1594.
The castle gardens host an annual pumpkin market in September where local producers sell regional products including fruits, jams, and chutneys.
Located at Van Pallandtweg 11 in Neerijnen, the castle functions as a town hall while maintaining its status as a national monument.
The garden restoration project, initiated in 1996, relies entirely on volunteer work to maintain the historical plants and traditional agricultural practices.
