Museon-Omniversum

Museon-Omniversum is a science museum with a large-format film theater housed in a modern building designed by architect Wim Quist. The facility combines interactive galleries about sustainability and global challenges with a dome cinema for immersive screenings.

The institution formed in 2022 through the merger of two long-standing establishments: the Museon museum and the Omniversum theater. This combination brought together expertise from both venues to create an integrated educational center focused on sustainability.

The exhibitions speak to visitors of all ages and invite hands-on exploration of how people live together and make choices that shape the world around them. From everyday products to global challenges, the displays show how individual actions connect to larger patterns.

Visitors can explore the galleries and watch screenings in the dome cinema, both located within the same building, allowing you to move freely between activities. Plan for enough time to experience both the interactive exhibitions and at least one film showing.

The building features extensive rooftop solar panels and holds a Green Key Gold certification for environmental sustainability practices. These elements demonstrate how educational institutions can actively practice environmental responsibility alongside teaching about it.
