Geulhemmermolen

The Geulhemmermolen stands on the left bank of the Geul River, constructed with marlstone walls and featuring hardstone window frames and a tile roof.

The first documented reference to the Geulhemmermolen dates to 1234, while the current structure was rebuilt in 1768 by miller Arnoldus Josephus Quaedvlieg.

The mill represents traditional Dutch water-powered grain processing methods and holds protected status as a Rijksmonument for its historical engineering significance.

Visitors can observe the restored waterwheel mechanism while enjoying meals at the on-site restaurant, which occupies the historical mill building.

The mill features three pairs of 17-der grinding stones arranged around a wooden gear system, one of the few remaining such configurations in Limburg.
