The Grote Kerk features stone vaults throughout its structure, with a prominent west tower and decorative pinnacles completed during the eighteenth century.
Construction of the current building started after a fire in 1457, with architects Everaert Spoorwater and Antoon Keldermans directing the architectural development.
The church contains wooden choir stalls from 1542 by Jan Terwen, displaying intricate carvings that combine biblical themes with elements from Roman history.
Located at Grotekerksplein 8, the church opens its doors to visitors who can explore the building through guided tours or independent visits.
The copper and marble choir fence from 1743 represents the only complete stone-vaulted church structure in South Holland province.
